ppl complain if theres a roidrace, then again ppl complain every single time they lose roids.
Sadly its the same ppl often enough.
But hey, seeing as things are, things game wont make it for 2 more rounds.
Or maybe it will and Ely will be winning some rounds in a row for some reason...

lol i doubt any ely will be left playing.... or any others... seems some like it to be 100% sure to win and have a roidrace... then you could just aswell play vs AI orso and don't bother to play massive multiplayer online games.

tbh the only fun stuff about those games is when ya have to put up a real challenge to win and then even losing a war can be fun... but this is just killing a game... thought peeps learned from last preat round but seems some enjoy to jump ships and ruin a war (tbh still dun get why peeps jump the day after ely/tian hit the top 2 enemy gals hard) it was for sure an open war till some of tian important peeps decided it was "easier" to jump sides and uneven the war to a point where its like 4 vs 1 in numbers/score...

@ 9:1 galname... Why do 5:6 always quit when they get incs? 9:1 <-- maybe stop hiding in a 4 vs 1 block and try to make it a real wargame instead of a roidrace....

Hi everyone

I used to be on Slackware, and a friend told me about KateOS ... I decided to try it, and after the liveCD - which was cool, but no compilation possible for my wifi's drivers - , I installed DVD on my hard drive.

Ok, everything' seems fine.

I've got my wifi card, sound, my ntfs partitions readable & writable, rocks !

But .. I'm stuck into 1024x768. I've looked into the forum and into the wiki ( but don't really understood something, I don't talk at all Polish .. and I'm French... ), saw about using the i810 driver with the DRI option to true, etc .. done it.

Ok, that's cool, my glxgears grew from 600 FPS to 820 FPS.. I think we can do better for this

So here are my questions :

- I don't know why KateOS use the "i810" name ( and driver ) while the name is now "intel" ? Is it a outdated version of the driver ? ( it's not a attack, it's really a question )
- How can I do to activate DRI AND Direct Rendering on my laptop ? I used i810 with all options, glxinfo told me that the driver was Mesa Intel DRI Driver, but in "direct rendering :" -> No. How to do that ?
- I've tried to download and recompile from intellinuxgraphics.org latest drivers, but look's like some packages are missing .. I'm here for now. Trying to gather all the missings packages :]
- How to get up to a 1280x800 resolution ? I feel that it will be coming with the DRI & Co, but 1024 is a really boring and annoying resolution ...

So, someone have an idea ? As said before, I use a Intel 915 GM on a Dell Laptop, I know under slackware the only one thing to do is to switch "vesa" in the xorg.conf into a "intel" string ... which allow 1280x800 and DRI. No need of 855resolution or something like this.

After 2 days of using KateOS, I really find it very cool, user friendly, stable, etc ..the only prob' is about graphics, and I'd like to continue using KateOS

If there' someone who can help me ? Please ?

Aka Hydra have an open recruitment and take in fairly new players, ministry do not. If you want to compare the number of skilled members in Min+Ely to the number in Hydra+GoCi please do so, id be interested with what conclusion you come out with.

The simple fact is that Hydra are still a "new" alliance, and are still learning how to play the game properly. This is all but another step towards realising what they must do to become a "main" player.

Also how many of the top10 galaxies are Min/Ely?, and how many are Hydra/GoCi. I think that should put your "shocking start" in prospective to be honest.

Next to the person who blamed the admins. This is not the admins fault, at the end of the day you make of the game what you wish, you dont play the game because of the features in it, you play it for the outside factors, of friends, alliances and wars.

The problem with this game is that there are too many short sighted political HC's, who lack the experience to commit to a balanced war, either through lack of confidence in their own abilities to ensure it is fair, or lack of confidence in their alliances abilities. So then we get the situation of uneveningly weighted blocks, as we have seen round after round after round.

The only way to give the HC's of these alliances some help is to have a completely random round, so that they can effectively go into a round without allies, as the problem will always be you dont want 100% pure gals, but also you dont want every alliance under the sun in your galaxies.

Planetia does not have the playerbase to support private galaxies anymore.

new? theyve been playing this game for quite a while, tbh, albeit not at top level.

it does not take einstein to figure out that attacking gets you roids in the beginning, and if they ever wanted to contend for the top they should have simply started podding. they would have had guaranteed success, too, as defence is horrendeously expensive in the beginning.

of course ministry/ely has more experienced players ... but we are also committed to loads of other things, too. i can count the 'true hardcore' players this round in our 2 alliances on 2 hands, the rest have quite alot of RL to take care of. you dont have to be a tactical genius to cover a galaxy and launch, anyone can organise that. it's not like this game is hard to understand :/

If the rest of te universe had tried to attack and got subsequently crushed by us, then i would accept the argument that we overblocked and then i would do everything in my power to make it fun again... Hydra didn't even try, they just rolled over and made way, therefore i dont think i am to blame. i can guarantee that we would have lost major roids in the 1st 2 nights, but you also have to fight to win

The Slackware Linux distribution (v. 1.00) is now available for

custom kernels to put up for FTP.

Although TEX support is not included in the Slackware release, the you may
install the SLS T series from the install program.

At this point, the install disk itself is running .99pl8. I'm working on it :^)
Also, installation from other than a 3.5" floppy has not been tested, but might
work. 5.25" floppy will not work because of file sizes. At this point, I have
no plans to support a 5.25" version.

How to get the Slackware(tm) release:

The Slackware release may be obtained be anonymous FTP from
mhd3.moorhead.msus.edu in directory /pub/linux/slackware. At least initially,
this release will be in the form of 3.5" disk images which should be copied
to floppies using the RAWRITE.EXE program, or dd under Linux.

Please note that our FTP software does not support limiting the number of
concurrent anonymous logins. PLEASE try to go easy on this machine. If things
get out of hand, access may be restricted.

Other sites are, of course, welcome to help out with the load by mirroring
the distribution.

If you find any problems with the distribution, or if you have any suggestions
for improvements, please let me know. If you know of more up-to-date versions
of software in the distribution, I'd like to hear about that, too.

Every album is always a new beginning for Rebekka. Here comes her third 'I Keep My Cool'. 'It has become clearer to me now what I actually want to do', she says. 'For me, this album is a step forward and I got to work with such wonderful people again. I simply feel incredibly lucky.'

For the eleven songs, all of them written by her, Rebekka was able to enlist the help of most of her skilled musician friends. Apart from guitarist Eivind Aarset, bass-player Larry Danielsson and drummer Per Lindvall, the piano and keyboards are now manned by Kjetil Bjerkestrand and Strings are taken by players from the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.

In the songs, Rebekka once again shows herself to be a poet who often manages to achieve great effects and narrate stories by taking just a few, small and delicate steps. In her opening song 'We Hit It Again', a smooth R&B pearl, Rebekka clearly shows how it is possible to simply enjoy freshly blossoming love: 'It is a song about infatuation – how wonderful it is. Just that first moment, when you fall in love and an exciting game begins between two people.' She again shows how vividly she can evoke shared memories directly in a song. In 'Welcome Home', smiled upon by light Irish breezes and magically charged with the guitar of Eivind Aarsets, the radiant and intensive voice of Rebekka's, simply captivates us as she wraps us around her little finger. She is not only a singer for all melancholy modes. She turns 'Any Pretty Girl' into an intimate folk-ballade and 'Love May Seem Hard' into a gentle and cheerfully, jazzy number, once again demonstrating how easily the musical thoughts flow from her's pen. She will have nothing to do with pigeonholes, as can be seen from the wide range of songs, almost all of which were written for the new album. Only 'Welcome Home' was written some two years ago, and the groovy up-tempo song 'Just Having My Fun' six or seven years ago. Rebekka does not try to hide the fact that this song clearly has a bit of Prince in it: 'Yes, when I heard it later on, after I had recorded it, I sure got associations to prince. But I wouldn't say that he influenced me directly. The songs always know what they want. It is just a matter of listening to their instructions.' She once used a Norwegian text that she translated into English for her explosive blues tune 'Hard To Be A Loser', where she lets out her vocal claws in the role of a loser, while Eivind Aarset powerfully howls and wails on his slide guitar. The song 'Everything Can Change', written and produced as the official song of the Vienna 'Life Ball 2006', Europe’s biggest charity event for the fight against AIDS is a hymn that really gets under your skin – but that is also merely one of the many endless facets of the exceptional artist Rebekka Bakken.

CHASING CANDICE

They never said PR was going to be an easy job. Not everyone can be a CJ off of "The West Wing" (or even a PJ off of DC Comics).

So let's hear it for Candice Chan of Dreamwave Productions, up in Canada.

Recently, she had to deal with enquiries on the Dreamwave message boards about topics brought up in this very column - reports of unpaid, partially paid or very very late paid creators, and the effect that was having on Dreamwave's production schedule.

And, like the diligent soldier she is, she said she'd ask the bigwigs and post a reply in the next few hours.

A few hours later, the reply came - by deleting the thread.

Well, simultaneously Candice sent out the following confidential memo, announcing that James McDonough (also known as Brad Mick) and Adam Patyk had been fired from Dreamwave and the books.

Not sure how replacing two creators with one creator is meant to speed up production, or indeed "add" to creators, but hey. At least, in principle, it stops any pesky demands by creators to get paid before they turn any new work in.

The memo started off fairly traditionally, when two individuals have left a company under acrimonious circumstances...

The Tformers website decided to report the story that the two were leaving. Which caused a small scene as the memo was meant to be confidential. Except that people complaining about the memo being confidential, only confirmed its existence, and the validity of the story.

Then James McDonough and Adam Patyk emailed me to confirm the story, saying, "We have a dispute with Dreamwave regarding our departure. We are owed a significant amount of unpaid fees which are being claimed from Dreamwave." Lying In The Gutters has been reporting similar stories regarding Dreamwave freelance employees over the last few months. But both James and Adam are significant creators in Dreamwave's output, James having a high level position within the company. Naturally message boards kicked off with abuse against Dreamwave as a result, with bullet takers jumping in as usual.

All this may make you feel sorry for poor Candice Chan on the frontline of all this. But don't worry. She has her own fashion line in the wings just ready to go.... rockstars by day, ass-kicking heroines by night!

And since Dreamwave are making such a big thing of getting books out on time and done right, it would be churlish and indeed hypocritical to draw attention to the misspelling in big old headline type of the word "expansion" (t instead of the s) on the back cover of the latest "Transformers Energon" comic. So I won't.

Instead I'll check in with a poster purporting to be a Dreamwave staff member calling themselves The Puppet Master, posting, "(James), You were constantly talking shit about your colleagues. I'm sure you are aware of the many mistakes you made during your tenure at Dreamwave especially while you were in Canada. I'm going to give you a little advice (I somewhat owe it to you). As hard as you try to cover your tracks, if someone hates you they will tell all. Don't be so eager to burn those bridges because one day you're going to need them again.

"Adam, I never had the opportunity to meet you and all I have to say to you is, 'be careful.'

"For the both of you, just remember anything you have said and are about to say will just ruin your reputation (what is left of it).

I have this stupid dizziness that makes me sit out of the class more often than I like, and now that it is advanced, I have no choice but to watch class when I can get there, and it is so clear to me that each and every lesson is an attempt to resolve various problems between individuals. If someone is unreasonable and wants to resolve their differences with violence, we try to communicate our message that we can be more violent than the attacker but we are holding back our temper in order to communicate a message of peace and harmony. Depending upon the comprehension of the violence put forth in the situation, and the comprehension of the people in the room, we will attempt to use the least amount of force to resolve the situation.

Reading the account in it face value, it’s quite easy to take Paul side. However, putting Paul’s account under the microscope reveals many things that I believe Paul was trying so hard to ditch. I expected Paul would try to tell us his side in as favorable as possible.

He had a time of cooperation some time ago, but now he is strenghthening his attitude...and if you think that the West will not strenghthen it's attitude you are making a big mistake.


This was a common mistake of "young democratic countries"...but other countries were lerning fast and Russia wasn't lerning at all. You made the same mistakes that every country in Central Europe made...but coutries in Central Europe managed to learn how to avoid mistakes (with help of international organizations like OSCE Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and European Council).

And Russia did not allowed anyone to help.

We have discussed that theme over and over. It always comes out that if was my fault that Kaplan is so sick. I have told you honestly from the begining that he is eating totaly different from every dog I have ever seen or owened. He has a abnorm and excessiv bad hunger from the first day and it was a problem to learn him how to eat ( hand feeded).

He needs more food why he is suffering from something - a absence syndrom!
You also another dogfriend know that he start to eat faeces from other dogs very early !
When the females go out he is standing at their back and wait until the faeces come out so that he can eat ! I was completly shocked when I saw that.

That episodes come and go and always inbetween he looks very well, but still inside he was not !

No Vet and and I believe no Professor can say that its possible to stop a defect even when you react very early.

I find dogs which take Enzyms with 5 month age and they are not well, even a young Diabetes mellitus dog at the age of 3 month. Your vet said that is not possible, hope he listen to my advice - it is !

Felix the specialist from the University has not given the best prognosis when we went their, because I have given him several fotos from those episodes and the treatment. He said it can be a try to set him on different Antibiotics for a long time , some try with cortison together, but no guarantees. The dogs I find under that therapys die , so what should I do ? How should I decide ?

For a time it goes better, but next break down and up to now no way out. So diagnostic again and standing for the old ways of treatment and must decide how to handle. I still know that his bowel also his stomache and pankreas will not heal, but may be a small hope to find something else.

All of my dogs have ever been to high qualtity of meat ( lower fat,quality which we eat by ourselfs). High Qualtiy of carbohydrates. Also the dogfood I use is not known as the very bad onces. You know I spent more money for my dogs than on everything else in life !

My dogs have a natural and free life in a big area, their are all really spoiled. I do not beat or train them or do stuff to them which stress them up. They can stay inside the house,sleep in my bed, use the garden how ever they want. I`m home 24 hours per day for my dogs. Also I take them for walks in the forest and do everything a dog like that is in need of - hope so.

Up to now I can`t understand why it should be my fault that my Baby is sick !

It is really hard when you are in a situation like that and all the breeder has to say is " Its your fault, you have feeded wrong"

Also we all should not ignore that if puppies get not enough food the kidneys can`t conzentrate the urin ! The urinclearence is low than. In the end those puppies have different livers.

As it is with alot of other matters as well, it's hard for two opposing "forces" to give recognition about the other's skills. In my opinion it should be expected at all times that both of them have the right (let's say we're only talking about 2 opposing forces here) to consider themselves better.

If the Đragons alliance thinks all Deuce people should think Dragons are better, then the Đragons alliance clearly doesn't know much. And vice versa for Deuce. All the bickering and fighting that is going on on any thread is in the end people wanting their "due" in respect (or something similar to that), or that's what I think I've noticed.

I'm forever in the side of Đragons, and from that aspect I'd like to say a few things:

1: as an alliance, Deuce is great. Why wouldn't they be? They have excellent players and a capable leader (if not the very best leader).
2: as a great alliance, Deuce has played well. Perhaps it could have done better under different circumstances, but that's besides the "point", which is:

3: smdio has a point. Suppose we have a term called "military"-wise, and if it is what smdio points it out to be, there'd very likely be a close fight between, e.g Đragons and Deuce. I don't think Đragons have a right to claim we'd WIN hands down any more than Deuce. Why? Because such a situation isn't going to happen, probably not ever:

4: In this game called Planetia, THERE ARE NO "MILITARY"-wise-only-battles. The whole idea of this game is to use AND benefit from ALL aspects available for the leaders and the players. PLAYING SKILL is in my opinion the ability to use all the things rules allow you to use and make them be your key to victory. IF smdio is saying that those aren't "real skill", which I DONT THINK HE IS, then he is mistaken.

But if he is only trying to make the point that when it comes to those matters that are used in battle when there is only battle and no politics and no other SKILLS involved (whatever you call them) Deuce is equal to anyone, he might very well be right You can't take that away from him. It's a bit tricky though, since those things mentioned above might be hard to "separate" from the ones I mentioned before etc.. but I hope this clears some things up

The downfalls of Deuce happened because they've failed to do well in the other aspects of this game. I haven't seen smdio denying that (perhaps belittling their importance). In my opinion smdio is wrong (if) in implying those parts of the game are less important than the others, and right in saying Deuce could very well be equal to anyone if those parts were "somehow removed".

I'm pro-Đragons forever, but some people need their due. Please leave smdio alone.

p.s. Make NO mistake: I would gladly play with Đragons against Deuce on ANY grounds, and I'd try/hope/expect/want to win, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't recognize the quite clear chance of Deuce winning also.

well, i've been thinking long and hard about this. probably since the end of round 9, and the beating we took at the hands of Đragons. i think its time that i made the announcement, and with the retirement of BlueArmy from Ministry and online gaming, my decision was made quite easily.

next round, whether it be random or private, there will be a new alliance entering Planetia. it will be headed by me and a few others that are well known (no, i wont mention names yet). expect to see a lot of core Ministry players there, as well as some Đragons, ex-Fury, ex-Legion, and people that you're used to seeing wtfpwn in this game.

we will have an all-star command team, with some of the best Mil-HC's that there are. we plan to not only 'do well' in round 11, but we plan to be the winning alliance, with top galaxy and top player. it is not, and never will be, our intention to enter this game on the losing end. that's not why im starting this alliance.

as far as member count: you have my word that our member base will not exceed 80 members. i simply wont allow it, doesnt matter who i have to turn away. 80 members for an alliance is a perfect limit. it allows for 8 galaxies in a private round, which is all that is needed to achieve victory.

as far as allies: we simply will not have any. we are going solo, and i encourage all alliances (actually, i PLEAD all alliances) to do the same. Đragons, Zeal, OuZo, LDK, and all other alliances, im hoping you follow our lead. this has been done before in Planetarion, when Sid brought over 1up, and im really hoping we can implement the same system into Planetia. the game needs it, and i really hope we can pull this off.

on a side note to that, we will not make any "secret" NAPs with any alliance in this game. when i say we're going solo, we are going solo, eod.

as far as enemies: we do not have a single enemy at the start of round 11. we will target Đragons, as much as we will target Hydra. we will target Zeal, as much as we will target Lithium. we will target OuZo, as much as we will target LDK. when we look at our arbitor, and we see a hostile galaxy (i.e. a galaxy that doesnt belong to us) we will attack that said galaxy. doesnt matter what flag they fly under, if you're hostile, you're hostile

its my opinion, that this game, and the way the politics in this game are run, have GOT to change. i have the greatest respect for all HC's in Đragons (liz, Tuho, BaSSe, Jurgen, Mac, Biusa, etc). if you are as intelligent as i hope you are, you will follow the lead im trying to put forth. this is not propaganda. we will not go back on our word. im trying to save this game from the trouble its headed towards. with each round lasting 4 days before a clear winner is decided, players are going to leave, alliances are going to crumble, and Planetia is headed for doom. next round, random or private, if we limit our alliances to 80 members (max), then we will have a round that is worth playing, and not decided after a week or 2.

ill be awaiting an announcment from each alliance for their decision on my proposal. i am currently in the process of recruiting members that will make up the core of our alliance. we will have our own IRC server, and also public channel on netgamers and the planetia server (these will also be announced at a later time). as for an alliance name? i know what it will be, but im not announcing that yet either.

again, im doing this for the good of the game, and not for my own benefit. i could easily retire after this round and get back to my real life that i've been neglecting horribly. i will NOT play another round that is decided in 4 days, or decided by a numbers situation. if we limit our alliances sizes and are honest to each other about no NAPing or allying with other alliances, this will be, by far, the best round of Planetia yet.

I think in a way you are all right in parts.

First of all I trust that you all understand that I am appalled like verybody else by what happened and that I am not defending this boy or condoning what he did!

I think calling this boy or others like him f****rs is way off. I agree with Tex on this.
I am not saying that any person with a psychological disorder should be out in the world killing others ofcourse. But I do think that he was a person too, a troubled person. I suppose he didn't get the proper help he needed allthough that is also easy to say in hindsight. An bottomline .. some people can't be helped, but that does not make them a f****r.

And my thought was also.. well, this boy had a mother too, how must she be feeling??

And please don't start blaming the parents since someone need to be blamed.

Being a mother myself and also working as a counsellor I tend to see all different aspects. Or I try to.
Judging is so easy, logical, it's what we do, cause we need an explanation for these horrible things that happen.

I have a son who is pretty troubled himself, not that bad, but people with his disorder tend to end up violent in one way or another sooner than "normal" people. It's very very hard work to raise this kid to a responsible adult. My fear that he will cross bounderies someday he shouldn't cross is my worst fear and nightmare.
He is doing fine at age 15 now.. so far so good....

I am telling this, so you all understand where I am coming form.

So I guess th ething is that these terrible things happen and we all want an explanation to be able to live our lives without the constant fear that our kids or other loved ones will be shot or murdered in another way.
But simply the scale of this, so many victims makes people scared.

It has a direct effect on how they experience the world, basictrust is very important and that gets damaged in situations like this.

So apart from making money, the media have different roles in this too.

Indeed giving these killers so much attention has a snowball effect.
But what it also does.. is reassuring many people that these things don't happen everyday.. this is so awful that they give it so much attention. And the fact that the killer was a "lunatic" also reassures people that not just everybody turns into a killer. So showing his madness also decreases the fear in a lot of people.

I think showing those videos and foto's on T.V. is not a good thing, it would be better I think to tell his story with as much sensation as possible, but shoving it under the table is not good either.

I think George did make a good point, I am just not happy with his choice of words and I am a bit sad that he said it this way and apparently thinks this way.. Most of the time he seems to see different sides of the story too .. and I wonder why he didn't say it the second night in Denmark.. did he just forget or were there other reasons..?

Anyway.. long story, I hope I am making sense as it is always hard to explain your feelings on sensitive issues like this in a different language.

Besides when you look at the lyrics of Ticking his comment doesn't make a lot of sense I think... other than that things don't change.. but the song is more about the tragedy of the killer than of his victims. Ai apexi, pls dont give advice on something you know nothing about. A toyota can take a hell of a lot of compression and still be able to run on NORMAL PUMP FUEL. Fit the black top pistons (this will already bump up the comp.) and then skim the block to get the piston to stick out the block(this is where you need to measure carefully to check ur valve to piston clearance). But i'll chat to you when you come to me

Do you use a knock link? then YOU should rather not give people stupid advise especially since you broke a piston from the high comp and detonation

My piston cracked the last time cos the management was advancing the timing to over 20deg and on top of it i was running the car hard, THATS Y I CRACKED, NOT COS OF THE COMPRESSION OR FUEL. Did you get that now or must i draw pictures for you? I set the timing properly and i've been racing everyday for months with SUPER HIGH COMPRESSION AND NORMAL PUMP FUEL. More timing can't damage parts, DETONATION AKA PINGING BREAKS PARTS verstaan And without a knock sensor you wouldn't know that the motor is pinging at mid to high revs because the engine, throttles and exhaust so so loud how you gonna hear it? you can't and because a car doesn't ping on idle or just revving doesn't mean it won't ping further up the rev range and free revving doesn't mean [censored] as engines detonate under load to the motor.

If you really running as high compression as you saying then your motor IS detonating and you probably gonna break the motor AGAIN.

as far as i recall pinging is also known as pre-ignition.. in other words fuel being ignited to early... so in other words advancing your ignition timing to much also causes pre-ignition, because the fuel is ignited to long before the piston reaches TOP DEAD CENTRE.. the other type is when you have a low octane fuel together with a high compression. Your piston goes up towards TDC and the compression gets so high that your fuel ignites by itself. The octane of fuel is a ratio of how much pressure it takes for the mixture to ignite, the higher the more pressure it takes and vice versa..
